Vienna Brewing Co. (1933-1940)
Following the repeal of Prohibition, the Vienna Brewing company was incorporated in 1933, however brewing operations did not begin until 1934 in a small portion of what was once the Gambrinus brewery. Without the necessary equipment for bottling, the company initially selling it’s beer in barrels. In 1936 a new bottling plant was constructed, however the revenues from the increased production proved insufficient to offset the costs of the construction and in 1940 the plant would close for good. |
